TELEHEALTH IN ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA

Fun fact: St. Augustine, founded in 1565 is claimed to be the oldest continuously occupied city in the United States!

St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach have been featured as the best places to live time and time again!

While enjoying the beautiful Spanish architecture throughout the town, if you have a sweet tooth, you might consider the “Not Just A Chocolate Tour”!

If you happen to over indulge on sweets while enjoying the town, no need to fret too much… elevated glucose levels with diabetes is a common condition treated via tele health.

The Cons:

Florida is home to many insects, including mosquitos, spiders and scorpions. Fortunately insect bites are common complaints which are easily handled via telehealth!

The Saharan dust blowing over Florida in the summer months has caused a lot of new or recurrent allergies and sinusitis in individuals. Fortunately allergies, upper respiratory tract infections, and sinusitis are common complaints which are also easily handled via telehealth!

Regarding Health and Wellness

Many things nowadays, especially with the assistance of smart technology can be addressed safely, effectively, and conveniently via telehealth or virtual care. For example, many individuals now have automatic blood pressure cuffs, smart watches which monitor the heart rate and even the rhythm, pulse oximetry, blood sugars monitors, and more in their home. These self assessment resources aid the individual, and also help to facilitate the remote health care experience you have with your online doctor or provider.

However, when health really isn’t going as planned, and individuals need hands-on acute or specialty care which cannot be provided via telemedicine, I like to recommend reputable and reliable resources in the community.

Some Activities I Personally Suggest:

  • Take a stroll around downtown to appreciate the Spanish architecture throughout
  • Visit the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
  • Ride the hop-on hop-off trolley which speaks to over 100 points of interest
  • Take a scenic boat ride and catch the Bridge of Lions while possibly spotting a dolphin!
  • Paddle board or kayak off the coast
  • Sail along the bayfront
