CONDITIONS TREATED

What can telemedicine do for you remotely? – Plenty!

Telehealth is often accessed by individuals in their home or work place, or while traveling domestically or internationally and staying in a campground, hotel or even a unique Airbnb! (Virtual health care while staying in an Airbnb)

Virtual video visits can evaluate and treat both acute (non-emergent) and chronic illness, and provide health counseling.

Individuals often access a video visit for a prescription refill of chronic medications, an acute infection (pink eye, stye, cough, sore throat, sinus infection, infected tattoo or piercing, an insect bite), a new or old rash, mental health or a men or women’s health issue.

If the condition requires a medication, prescriptions are instantaneously sent electronically to a pharmacy most convenient for you.

Laboratory studies, aka blood work may be ordered as well.

Adult Acne

Not “growing out of acne” as anticipated can be defeating.

There are many safe and effective topical and oral medication treatments available for adult acne.

In my professional opinion, a personalized regimen is best as skin and acne types vary greatly as do the anticipated treatment responses.

Headaches & Migraine

Various pharmacologic therapies are available for both the prevention of headaches and migraines. Other pharmacologic therapies are available as abortive (migraine stopping therapies) to resolve a breakthrough episode once it has started.

Medical Advice for Travelers

Medical advice regarding traveling can be vast depending upon the individual and their health status, the route of travel planned, the accommodations whilst away, the activities planned, and the location(s) visited.

Consideration is given for vaccinations which might be reasonable for travel to specific endemic areas.

Prophylactic medications may be indicated if individuals are traveling to areas with high risk for travelers diarrhea and malaria.

Men’s Health Care

With increasing age, often in the early 40s, sexual dysfunction becomes an increasing problem. Decreased libido, diminishing erectile function and ejaculatory disorders are fairly common.

URI & Sinusitis

The common cold is formally known as acute rhinosinusitis (ARS) and is most often a viral infection which will improve without a doctor’s intervention.

Sometimes however, cold symptoms can be a sign of something more problematic such as bacterial sinusitis or pneumonia necessitating a doctor’s intervention.

Sore Throat

Sore throat or “acute pharyngitis” is a common ailment treated via telehealth. Most cases are viral in nature, and are caused by respiratory viruses which resolve with supportive care in a few days.

Women’s Health Care

Many common women’s health conditions which are bothersome and even recurrent can be treated via telehealth.

THESE CONDITIONS INCLUDE:

  • UTI
  • Recurrent UTI
  • Yeast infection
  • Mastitis

  • Vaginal dryness
  • Sexual health

Ear Infection

Inner ear infections or “Otitis Media”, and outer ear infections or “Otitis Externa” aka “swimmer’s ear”, though more common in children, can also affect adults.

Gout

Gout, inflammatory arthritis is a condition caused by monosodium urate (MSU) crystals in high quantities in the blood.

The incidence of gout has risen in the United States since the 1970’s, and perhaps the less than ideal American diet is to blame?

COVID-19 & Flu

There is an abounding number of viral illnesses which can cause minor to very severe symptoms.

Dental Infections

Dental caries (cavities) can lead to a broken or cracked tooth and a dental abscess can occur.

Asthma & COPD

Asthma is a chronic disease defined as overactive responsiveness of the bronchioles (airways in the lung) causing inflammation and narrowing of the airways (bronchoconstriction).

Skin Conditions

The skin is the largest body organ. Many things both internal and external can affect the skin.

Hypertension & Hyperlipidemia

Did you know that high blood pressure is one of the most common reasons for visits to the doctor’s office, and taking medication?

Weight Loss

A higher body mass index (BMI) significantly increases an individuals risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and more.
